GROUPS

  • SOUND SAFARI

A small group session aimed at early literacy and phonological awareness for preschoolers. Children explore letter sounds, rhyming, and sound manipulation in a fun, interactive group setting to strengthen decoding readiness.

    GOALS:

    1. Strengthen phonological and phonemic awareness

    2. Build letter-sound knowledge through multi-sensory play

    3. Foster listening and language comprehension

4.Support early print concepts and expressive language skills

    5. Promote curiosity and confidence in pre-readers

Class size is intentionally kept small. In a small group, every explorer has a voice, every question matters, and every child is seen. This helps build the confidence, connection, and consistency that Preschoolers need to thrive as early learners.

Adapted from portions of the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) curriculum, Sound Safari focuses on phonemic awareness, letter-sound knowledge, and early decoding skills, providing research-based strategies to support confident, emerging readers.

  • TINY TALKERS

A small group session designed to support early speech and language development in toddlers and preschoolers. Focuses on building foundational communication skills through play-based activities, social interaction, and structured language exercises.

The literacy & play weekly program is facilitated by a bilingual speech-language pathologist with a focus on:

    -expanding language

    -developing social skills with peers

    -introducing pre-literacy skills

    -targeting executive function skills

    -integrating gross & fine-motor movement

-fostering opportunities for creativity & imaginative play

Each week, we will participate in a variety of activities including: story-time, semi-structured open-ended play, process art, sensory play, movement activities & music.

We utilize the Tiny Talkers Group Curriculum (@ttgroupcurriculum) for the Toddler & Preschool groups, which was developed in Nashville, TN by Meghan Samuels, M.S., CCC-SLP (owner of Tiny Talkers PLLC @tinytalkersnashville). Tiny Talkers is a language-rich curriculum for toddlers and preschoolers that supports: language, social, pre-literacy, and executive function development.
